About this item

One Mother's Day, we found ourselves on Maui, revisiting Seven Sacred Pools. One of my daughters bent way over the water to see her reflection. I said sharply "Get back, you might fall in." I heard myself, for the first time, and realized I sounded like my mother speaking to me when I was little and did things that were a little-bit-risky.

When I bent over to look into the water, I realized that I even looked like my mother. One truth we all learn as mothers is that there is a point in all of our lives when we come full circle, and actually become our mothers.

This is a DIGITAL DOWNLOAD of an original painting that was inspired by that moment and made into a Mother's Day print. It's sized at 8 X 10, but the file is large and you can size it up or down. Download and print on canvas (make your own giclee) or photo paper, or t-shirt transfer, or cards, or on cloth for a quilt applique, or any other craft project. Or just print on nice paper and frame in something from the craft store -- and you'll have an inexpensive and wonderful piece of art to give or enjoy yourself. Use this as many times as you like for your own personal use, but no resale, please. And if you have any problems with the download, email me immediately!

If you'd rather order this image already made into a giclee (8" X 10" or 20" x 24") or as a paper print (20" x 24"), look through the shop for those listings.

Then hang it on your wall. Lean back. Think about it. Someday, when you look at your reflection, you, too, will see your mother looking back.
