About this item

When my daughters were young, a ferocious pit bull lived next door to us in Kailua, Hawaii. For some forgotten reason, my youngest daughter was going through a phase where she loved lettuce sandwiches (invented by her removal of the ham or turkey). One Sunday morning, dressed for church (but barefoot as usual) she took her lettuce sandwich outside. I heard a big commotion in the front yard, ran out onto the porch, and saw the ferocious pit bull (who had dug under the fence into our yard) cowering and obedient as my youngest daughter, lettuce sandwich in one hand, waggling a finger in the dog's face, said: "Sit, you stupid mutt."

The dog sat. I grabbed a camera and got one shot before she rewarded the pit bull for his obedience with her lettuce sandwich.

This is a giclee on canvas, which I have stapled to stretcher bars. To hide the staples, run a ribbon around the side and hang as is; or, suitable for framing (no glass, please).

I'll personalize this, if you like. And by the way, the youngest is now an attorney, fulfilling her historical destiny of making even the toughest opponent "Sit!"
