Pele sweeps through her creation, dancing on the hot lava, twirling ghostly robes as she paints the colors of the new earth around her.

This painting is also about personal creation -- how we create, how creation fights off the darkness and despair of these particular times.

I loved painting this unstructured piece and the bright, free-flowing abstract colors, symbolizing Pele dancing in the middle of red-hot molten rock. It's vivid, has lots of movement, and quite unlike other paintings I've done.

This is a high-resolution (11.5 MB) digital download that you can print on canvas, paper, tote bags, t-shirts, mugs -- anything you want to enjoy, as long as you don't sell it (you are welcome to give a a gift!). Download it once, and print it as many times as you want. You can resize the image -- if you want a larger print than your home printer can do, look online for many companies who turn ditigal files into larger prints or canvases (I think even Costco and pharmacies may do this now!).

I priced it at a special for 99 cents so everyone can enjoy (It would be free but that's not allowed on Etsy).
