About this item

Church on Sunday was a sea of hats, hats, hats! And all with flower haku leis!
The painting "Hibiscus Hat" was one of my earliest posters, and one of my favorite paintings. The shape of the hat, sleeves, and mail lei just seemed to flow.
This is a giclee on canvas based on an original painting that was in many calendars, cards, prints, posters, mugs, and even on a muumuu created by Liberty House in the 90's (for those of you who remember Liberty House!).
I print them and stretch them myself, to order, I sign them, and will personalize them if you tell me the name of the recipient. They are suitable for framing (no glass) or run a ribbon around the edges to hide the staples, and hang.
If you have an old straw hat, worn from many summers of use, or one you picked up in Hawaii, hang it next to the giclee. Even better, if you have kept a dried maile or haku lei, drape it over the hat.
Then enjoy!
