About this item
Alice Young, my daughter's great aunt, owned a Malt Shop called "Alice Malt Shop" in Kaneohe, Hawaii (Aunt Alice: "Only Counter Service!"). When their father and his sister were young, they would stop by and mop the floor or clean windows, only to be rewarded with a bowl of Saimin noodles with a colorful pink and white slice of fishcake floating on top, and a soda. Auntie Alice and her shop are long gone, but most of the older folks in Kaneohe still remember her and her delicious favorites: Spam and eggs over rice, shave ice, mochi, and other goodies. This is an 8" x 10" signed giclee on canvas that I made from an original painting done in the 80's. It's a piece of old Hawaiiana, and it can truly be said "Nothing like it ever was, and nothing like it ever will be again."
This is a giclee on canvas, stretched and stapled over stretcher bars. Run a ribbon around the edges and hang it as is, or suitable for framing (no glass).
